Marrakech Atlas Mountains A full day trip from Marrakech will take you through three of the most beautiful valleys of the Atlas Mountains and the heart of traditional Berber life. A four-wheel drive vehicle or minivan will take you into the mountains where you will see idyllic waterfalls, timeless villages, the Oukaimeden Valley and the Asni Valley. A spectacular journey along stunning mountain roads will take you to a Berber house for your lunch, or, if you wish, to a restaurant. Kik Plateau and Lake Takerkoust should be part of your visit.

3 Valleys Excursion Program Departing From Marrakech

Your Marrakech Atlas Mountains tour departs from Marrakech with an experienced driver to the first Ourika Valley, approximately 1 hour drive from Marrakech. It is famous for its waterfalls (to visit these waterfalls, you have to walk for about 1 hour and 20 minutes there and back with a mountain guide). There are also Berber women who extract argan oil (the only Moroccan oil). You will also have spectacular views as far as the eye can see.

Taking a path that is 1800 meters above sea level, you will continue through the second valley known as the Oukaimeden Valley.

You will pass through traditional Berber villages built of adobe and stone. If you want to discover the authentic life of the Berbers, we can organize for you a delicious lunch in a typical Berber house as an option.

Then you will reach the third valley of Asni, famous for its fruit trees (apples, walnuts, almonds, peaches…), it is here that you can enjoy the view of the snow-capped peaks of the High Atlas of Marrakech. You will then cross the plateau of Kik, to arrive at the magnificent lake of Takerkoust which is used as a reservoir and to generate hydroelectric energy.
